Jimmy Choo

The design legend visits the ATLANTIC.

We’ll give you three guesses as to which topic Professor Jimmy Choo and Julia Kleinjohann discussed at our sales office...that’s right, the latest trends in shoes! ;-) The shoe legend returned to Essen for the presentation of the Red Dot Design Award, to whose expert jury he belongs. The internationally advertised competition showcases the best products of the year in the area of product design, which are exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, among other places.

In 1983, Jimmy Choo founded his world-famous Couture label and opened a shoe store in London’s East End, whose clientele included Lady Diana. After selling his share, he is now highly committed to promoting design instruction: He is the ambassador for Footwear Education at the London College of Fashion, as well as speaker of the British Council for the promotion of foreign students in Great Britain, and works for the charitable programme “Teach for Malaysia”. For his service in the fashion industry, Queen Elisabeth II awarded him the title “Officer of the Order of the British Empire” in 2003. Until next time, Jimmy!
